Purpose

  • The SGM in this role will be responsible for the analysis of key performance indicator (KPI) data for all GCOO RHQs/NSCs (currently 15 global markets) and for collaborating with GSM Performance team to prepare and provide actionable insights and recommendations that drive strategic marketing investment and planning decisions. This role will also support and contribute to the development of annual Marketing business planning for all GCOO RHQs/NSCs.

Major Responsibilities

  • Monitor and evaluate KPI data provided by GSM Performance team that influences the effectiveness of marketing investments and strategies.
  • Analyze and interpret marketing performance results to identify trends and patterns in business conditions.
  • Support/conduct/study competitive analysis and market research to understand current local business conditions and assess the influence on marketing performance.
  • Collaborate with GSM Performance Team to prepare material (reports/presentations) with actionable insights and recommendations that are informed by KPI analysis.
  • Identify areas of opportunity and work with GSM Performance team to develop optimization strategies for marketing investment and vehicle model level allocation.
  • Work closely with the GCOO personnel at HMC, as well as Marketing/Marketing Performance personnel at RHQs/NSCs (including GMA/HMA) to understand business objectives and support development and monitoring of the Marketing business plan (including PM2 and Mid-Term Plan).
  • Provide specific direction to GCOO markets to ensure that their business plans and KPI targets are aligned with strategic goals defined by the GCOO office.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner.

Major Responsibilities (continued)

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement data-driven strategies and track their impact.
  • In collaboration with GSM Performance team, engage HMC and GCOO local market personnel to provide performance assessment, review investment allocation, and if appropriate, determine counter actions or shifts in investment plan. 
  • Establish and maintain a cadence of communication with internal GSM teams to ensure consistency and alignment between GSM and GCOO markets.
  • Provide direction, supervise, train and direct report(s) as assigned.

Authority

  • Provide direction to GCOO region marketing teams regarding marketing KPI measurement and investment planning and allocation.
  • Management and development of personnel within the group.
  • Management of affiliates and external agencies.
  • Approve employees’ expense reports and time off approval, and invoice and PR approval.
  • Check approval, authorization of purchasing/accounting documents associated with department.

Education

~ Must be a high school graduate
~ Bachelor’s degree required.

Related Experience

  • Ten or more years of experience of which at least 7 years of directly related experience in aspects of automotive marketing.
  • Seven or more years of experience in multi-tiered, multi-channel media planning in automotive sector.
  • Seven or more years of experience in large-scale, multi-million-dollar budget management.
  • Prior experience establishing and analyzing marketing KPIs.
  • Prior experience in the management of automotive marketing data analytics.
  • Experience working/ collaborating internationally.
  • Three or more years of supplier management experience preferred.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of automotive retail environment.
  • Ability to analyze data and make objective recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of media buying/planning.
  • Understanding of multi-tier marketing landscape.
  • Deep knowledge of MS Excel advanced data processing functions. 
  • Ability to manage high-paced environment with multiple projects and agency personnel.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to changing timelines.
  • Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships at variety of levels; executive, managerial, subordinate and agency hierarchy of personnel.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to work autonomously and make decisions independently.
  • Effective project, personnel, and budget management skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint

$137,025.00 - $203,000.00 Annual
