~ Position works closely with National and Regional Management to develop, review, and publish necessary documentation to meet company business objectives and ensure that all publications released from the Warranty Department are accurate and released on a timely basis, including Policy & Procedures, Warranty Manual, Warranty Coverage Guides, Owners’ Handbooks for both Hyundai, and Genesis.

~ Position requires extensive interaction between HMC Personnel and Warranty involving policy matters, system edits, procedures.

~ Position requires extensive interaction between Legal and HATCI personnel on emissions validation, coverage identification.

~ Position requires extensive interaction between fleet accounts (AVIS, Enterprise, Hertz) on contracts, claims & other warranty/campaign matters.

~ Position requires interaction between Commercial Sales Accounts and Warranty on policy, system identification, claim processing.

Major Responsibilities

~ Advanced knowledge required as the primary warranty policy subject matter expert. Need to be knowledgeable about industry warranty policy, knows the major difference between all tier one OEM competitors for both Hyundai and Genesis.

~ Conduct regular warranty benchmarking activities with all other OE Automakers mass market brands & premium brands.

~ On-going interaction between Warranty and HMC/Service/Parts/Marketing/Sales covering new programs, claims analysis, procedures and policies, review of manuals, publications, handbooks, etc. for Hyundai and Genesis.

~ On-going National/Regional/Dealer/Fleet/HMMA/Port/CA Support on warranty claim submission, new projects, Project Management & warranty policy inquiries for both Hyundai and Genesis.

~ Use independent judgement to coordinate, process, and manage, requests from various organizations regarding Policy issues, time allowances, on-going quality issues, issues affecting the day-to-day operations.

Major Responsibilities (continued)

~ Exercise discretion to oversee all operation of Warranty Call Center that provides support for All 835 Hyundai Dealers and 350 Genesis dealers.

~ Manage all updates to changes in Date of First Use (DFU) Requests, additional/removal of all branding requests, updates to Original Owner requests.

~ Oversee all functions of the Warranty Department Administration, including Warranty Budgets, Record Retention, etc.


~ Position requires extensive knowledge of the warranty claim system and all interaction with other company systems to make required enhancements, policy changes, and judgement calls on repair coverage.


~ Must be a high school graduate
~ Bachelor’s degree preferred
~ Master’s degree a plus

Related Experience

~ Eight or more years of experience required preferably in an automotive related environment, with a Warranty background.


~ Strong organizational skills required.

~ Strong analytical background, with some Financial Background.

~ Strong Computer Capability including Excel, Word, QMF Capability Preferred, AS400 experience, etc.

$103,600.00 - $148,000.00 Annual


Actual pay will be based on skills, experience and education. Our total rewards package includes base salary, bonus and benefits.
