Purpose

  • The Senior Manager, Global Product Line Management (GPLM) is responsible for executing strategic and tactical direction to develop the PLM process globally with focus on HME, HMI, HMCSA, HMMEA, and HMAP.  The Senior Manager will execute directives from the Senior Group Manager to improve the model line governance capabilities in each Region and closely monitor performance. 
  • The Senior Manager is responsible for supporting all GCOO mandates and ensuring assignments are communicated to and delivered by regions. 
  • In addition, the Senior Manager is responsible for assisting Region teams in delivering action plans on a model line level to achieve optimization of volume, sales and profit targets as designated by the COO office for all Hyundai vehicles and ensuring achievement of Business Plan (BP) objectives.  This includes building, developing, and leading teams of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) that maintain comprehensive, real-time knowledge of sales performance at a national/regional/market level, inventory levels/mix, product/pricing/incentive competitiveness, marketing plans/effectiveness, region/dealer engagement levels, competitor activity, and segment dynamics (including purchase/rejection/avoidance reasons, loyalty/conquest, demographics, acquisition funnel, etc.). 
  • Senior Manager is also responsible for creating performance updates and analysis to maintain GCOO visibility to Global performance opportunities and risks.
  • The department’s key mission is to achieve Global revenue and share objectives by assisting to develop and working collaboratively with Regional PLM teams and provide strategic direction on go-to-market strategies that optimize sales and profitability for assigned Regions.  Responsible to develop and sustain Region processes with the lead Sales and Marketing stakeholder for product portfolio management and new product launch effectiveness within regions.

Major Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Regional teams to create Regional monthly PRM1 (Performance Review Meetings) including comprehensive analysis of model performance with a focus on optimizing sales/share/profitability and future go-to-market strategies.
  • Monitor Regional PLM process to ensure GCOO requests for analysis and deliverables are executed properly.
  • Support creation of reporting process to provide GCOO full visibility to model line performance detail by Region/Country and Key Markets with supporting analytical rationale.
  • Collaborate with Regions to develop and manage team to lead LCM (Launch Committee Meetings) to ensure cross-functional alignment and organizational readiness for new product launches.  Focus on identification of gaps and work collaboratively to address them.
  • Manage HMC PLM support team to gather the data, analysis, and insights necessary to create a global PLM reporting structure to support the monthly GCOO governance process.
  • Lead development of Regional Carflows including volume and share forecasts by model line.
  • Partner closely with regional peers in Pricing, Product Planning, Distribution, and Marketing to encourage cross-departmental collaboration on upstream planning and downstream problem solving.
  • Proactively lead team to analyze performance of assigned Regions relative to objectives, develop actionable recommendations to optimize performance across the levers listed below, and present to executive management at regular governance meetings.

  • Senior Manager will collaborate with regions to ensure the following areas are aligned to optimize performance per GCOO direction.
    • Product Planning:  Upstream strategic direction on product specifications and trim/powertrain/drivetrain mix every MY to ensure assigned vehicle(s) meets Sales and Marketing channel marketplace needs.
    • Strategy: Development of vehicle positioning strategies and Key Selling Points (KSPs) for all-new, major change, and face-lift vehicles.
    • Marketing: Collaborate to ensure product concept, positioning, KSPs are clearly communicated and with consistency across all company-owned and 3rd party websites/channels.
    • PR: Partner to ensure vehicle positioning strategy and market performance are effectively incorporated into media events.
    • Incentives: Collaborate to optimize competitiveness and support incentives planning meetings.
    • Pricing: Partner to identify opportunities to increase revenue.
    • Finance: Analyze and validate financial impact of recommendations.
    • Production: Trim mix direction monthly to ensure optimized PO and balanced pipeline.
    • Sales Training: Collaborate to ensure KSPs are clearly communicated (ensure consistency with key marketing. messages, positioning, and proper competitor comparisons).
    • Sales Operations: Downstream alignment with Subsidiaries to collaborate, manage and optimize media messaging, incentives and provide strategic/tactical inputs to drive the monthly go-to-market plan. 
    • Business Unit Management: Partner with Regions in setting annual business objectives (BP/OP) for each vehicle and provide strategic direction to Market Analytics for development of the Mid-term Plan.  Identify key product, marketing and sales programs required to achieve objectives.

Authority

  • Collaboration with Regions/Subsidiaries to develop financially vetted business cases for product performance improvement recommendations.
  • Lead Global PLM teams to achieve performance improvement and BP/OP targets.
  • Collaborate with HMC PLM team and other cross-functional teams and projects.

Education

~ Bachelor’s degree required.
~ Master’s degree a plus

Related Experience

  • Eight or more years of professional experience at a manufacturer/distributor of consumer products with direct product responsibilities (planning, pricing, marketing, incentives, distribution, and/or sales).
  • Automotive industry experience preferred.
  • Cross-functional project management experience required.
  • Extensive data analysis experience and data visualization expertise required.
  • Supervisory experience is preferred.

$107,800.00 - $154,000.00 Annual
