Purpose

The role involves overseeing model-line product planning and portfolio growth for key Genesis models, with a focus on managing the transition to an electric vehicle (EV) lineup. Responsibilities also include supervising long-range product planning, EV product strategy, and developing future technology roadmaps for all vehicles. Additionally, the position involves supporting product development requests and coordinating with Genesis Headquarters and Canada to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

Major Responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive strategies for product lifecycle management, including market positioning, target audience, sales volume, and packaging, informed by thorough market research and customer insights.
  • Create detailed product planning proposals, encompassing vehicle specifications, features, and trim levels, supported by extensive market and competitive analysis for presentation to senior management.
  • Generate concept specifications for model changes and updates based on segment analysis, product positioning, customer feedback, and market trends.
  • Craft competitive vehicle packaging and feature strategies to enhance market competitiveness.
  • Formulate future product line-up plans and electrification strategies to facilitate the transition to electric vehicles, ensuring brand alignment, competitive advantage, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop a comprehensive technology roadmap for Genesis vehicles, collaborating with Vehicle Technology Planning to target a leadership position.
  • Collaborate with Pricing and Accessory Planning teams to optimize trim level packaging, pricing, and margins to support profitability and sales targets.
  • Attend product meetings and design evaluations in Korea as required.
  • Review and approve new model or model face-lift start of production (SOP) processes.
  • Ensure the accuracy of all product-related materials, including web content and press releases, through effective product-guide management.
  • Provide valuable feedback and recommendations during ride & drive events to enhance product performance and customer experience.

Major Responsibilities (continued)

  • Develop detailed product presentation materials for model highlights and competitive positioning, utilized in product briefings, training, and media launch events.
  • Collaborate with Market Research experts to guide research efforts and advanced studies, influencing model-line analysis and new concept development.
  • Serve as the voice of the US customer in vehicle development, ensuring alignment with market preferences and needs.
  • Foster increased alignment and market voice for Genesis Canada within North America, enhancing regional cooperation.
  • Contribute to long-range product planning and strategy development, providing direction on target buyers, competitive analysis, and strategic hypotheses.
  • Liaise with Hyundai Motor Company (HMC) planning staff to ensure alignment with product strategy and objectives.
  • Work with senior management to integrate competitive analysis into future product plans, ideation, and brand positioning.
  • Provide effective leadership and development opportunities for staff, including managerial and associate roles.
  • Efficiently manage staff resources, time, and budget in alignment with company goals and vision.

  • Senior product development management of staff and vendor teams.

Education

~ Bachelor’s degree preferred
~ Master’s degree a plus

Related Experience

  • Eight or more years of experience of which at least five years of directly related experience in automotive manufacture/distributor with direct product planning experience.
  • Two to three years of supervisory experience desired.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Strong command of automotive technology and trends.
  • Strong oral & written communications skills.
  • Proficient with PC applications.
  • Proficient with frequently used Automotive Planning & Analysis.
  • Tools including Polk Insight, mTab, J.D. Power PIN & JATO.

Compensation

$103,600.00 - $148,000.00 Annual

Actual pay will be based on skills, experience and education. Our total rewards package includes base salary, bonus and benefits.
