Purpose

  • The Senior Group Manager, Parts Reporting & Analytics leads the data analytics and performance reporting regarding Parts & Service Operations, along with current and long-range Business Plans for Aftersales.
  • This position is responsible for supporting the company’s part sales and marketing efforts through data analysis and reporting.
  • Develops, analyzes and supports parts sales programs and performance standards to ensure a consistent, balanced package of services to support Hyundai parts sales performance.
  • Provide reporting and analysis on opportunities, KPI performance results, and areas of parts growth to facilitate data-driven decision making.

Major Responsibilities

Collaboration:

  • Support parts profitability through analysis of historical data, projected incremental sales and gross profit margin.
  • Closely collaborate with Genesis Motors America to support shared programs.
  • Closely collaborate with Maintenance parts sales, Wholesale, & DIO/Warranty sales teams to achieve company objectives regarding parts sales and profit.
  • Coordinate with affiliate companies like Hyundai Capital and AutoEver to ensure any program updates or modifications are managed quickly and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with other HMA Departments, such as Training, Legal & Field Ops to ensure above programs meet Division & Company needs.
  • Participate in industry events / forums and benchmark competitors to identify, select, and incorporate innovating process and programs into the Hyundai best practice process.
  • Flexibility – accept special projects, assignments or tasks as deemed appropriate and assigned by management.
  • Operations & Analytics:

  • Lead data collection and analysis to determine retention, repair type, parts and labor sales, vehicle and powertrain mix impact, modeling for future business and monthly results.
  • Support statistical data models and implement databases which streamline the measurement & forecasting of parts profitability.
  • Develop dashboards that combine visuals with real-time data for better decision making.
  • Design algorithms to help drive data-driven decisions to support parts sales, pricing and planning.
  • Lead team of data analysts to support departments and teams responsible for the programs below to hit company objectives related to parts sales and profit:

Major Responsibilities (continued)

  • Collision & Mechanical Parts Sales.
  • Maintenance Parts Sales.
  • Warranty, DIO Accessories & Genesis Parts Sales.
  • Provide analysis & identify trends and patterns to optimize parts pricing and improve parts sales & profitability.
  • Assist in developing annual national/regional/dealer parts sales objectives relative to parts sales and profit objectives.

Budget & Purchasing:

  • Department Budget Support – Support annual department budget, monitor budget compliance through review of monthly reports & identify/resolve variance issues and concerns.
  • Facilitate invoice processing and approvals with internal departments.
  • Maintain supplier agreements, change orders, purchase requests, purchase orders, and invoices. Facilitate processing and approvals with internal departments.
  • Support supplier selection and relationship management, including RFP and Scope of Service development. Review and approve deliverables. Ensure Hyundai needs and expectations are met.

Manage Direct Reports:

  • Management and development of personnel within the department (evaluation, hiring), as required, and conduct regular performance evaluations of direct reports including annual Performance Excellence Plans.
  • Develop employee business focus and plans for direct reports for the year ahead.
  • Approve all time off, training, expense reporting, and miscellaneous spending for the department.

Authority

  • Oversee performance of suppliers and internal support departments.
  • Makes business decisions that are critical to overall company success for Parts/Accessory sales, Customer Satisfaction, Retention and Profitability.
  • Manages business processes that contribute to over $1B in parts sales.
  • Works in collaboration with other divisions and business channels for maximum program performance (Digital Service, Marketing, Connected Car, Customer Experience, AutoEver, DBP, Finance and Purchasing.
  • Develop and manage program budgets, including annual profit task related to parts sales.
  • Decision making in both strategic and tactical actions for Parts initiatives.
  • This position has common Senior Group Manager-level authority defined by HR/Finance company policy.

Education

~ Must be a high school graduate
~ Bachelor’s degree preferred
~ Master’s degree a plus

Related Experience

  • Ten or more years of relevant automotive experience, of which at least five years of directly related experience in data analytics is desired.
  • Automotive understanding of vehicle parts, parts pricing, parts sales, parts operational experience preferred
  • Experience with Benchmarking and Market Analysis of OEM parts desired, with a focus on Wholesale activity.
  • Experience with project management and managing multiple projects at a time.
  • Three or more years of supervisory experience is required. 

Skills/Knowledge

  • Advanced Tableau and Alteryx or Python knowledge desired to pull data for analysis, decision-making and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with accessing multiple and disparate data sources to feed analysis.
  • Ability to work independently, works under pressure of deadlines, handle multiple priorities and pay close attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • Expert level database management capability.
  • Excellent communication skills to prepare and deliver formal presentations to executive management, Regions, and Dealers.
  • Ability to prepare and interpret Profit and Loss Financial Statement.
