Purpose

  • The Senior Group Manager, North America Governance and Communications, is a strategic leader responsible for driving governance initiatives, executive-level communications, and stakeholder engagement across North America. Reporting to the HMNA Director of Strategic Operations, this role ensures alignment with corporate goals, enhances communication between the CEO Office and key stakeholders, and supports governance structures to ensure effective decision-making.
  • The ideal candidate is a collaborative leader with exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills who thrives in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

Major Responsibilities

Governance:

  • Lead governance processes for North America, including executive-level initiatives, various committee meetings, and leadership forums.
  • Support both Hyundai and Genesis brands in the US, Canada and Mexico along with our manufacturing plants in Alabama and Savannah, GA and our Hyundai Translead business.
  • Develop and maintain governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with internal policies / standards.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and manage the agenda, materials, and follow-up for governance meetings in collaboration with the CEO Office.
  • Track key action items, decisions, and risks, ensuring timely resolution and communication.

Communications:

  • Develop and execute executive-level communication strategies tailored to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Draft speeches, presentations, and correspondence for the CEO, ensuring consistency in tone, messaging, and strategic alignment.
  • Oversee the creation of reports, briefing documents, and strategic updates for North American CEO

Major Responsibilities (continued)

  • Collaborate with corporate communications to amplify key messages and ensure alignment across regions.
  • Support HMNA CEO with all internal business strategy presentations to be used at Global Governance

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including Department Vice Presidents, regional executives and strategic partners.
  • Act as a liaison between the CEO Office and North America leadership, facilitating two-way communication and ensuring alignment on governance expectations.

Authority

  • Manage and lead a team to successfully support the Office of the CEO
  • Provide recommendations to management (direct and executive).
  • Responsible for decision making related to corporate governance.

Education

~ Must be a high school graduate
~ Master’s degree a plus
~ Bachelor’s degree required.

Related Experience

  • Ten or more years of OEM experience is required. 
  • Direct experience supporting an executive team in planning, governance and communications required.
  • Prior supervisory experience is required.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, global organization is preferred.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Exceptional writing, editing and presentation development skills.
  • Meticulous in preparing materials, tracking actions and ensuring compliance.
  • Expertise in coordinating large-scale projects with competing priorities and tight deadlines.

$137,025.00 - $203,000.00 Annual
