Purpose

~ This position is responsible for all warranty, Campaign, authorized Goodwill billings to the factories that produced vehicles sold through HMA.  Billings are submitted daily to the factories and this position is responsible for recovering Warranty, Campaign, authorized Goodwill expense.

Major Responsibilities

~ Collaborate with all factories to improve billing process to improve accuracy and accountability at all levels of the repair process.  Improve billing process and automate as much of the process as possible to increase accuracy and decrease manual workload.

~ Support both Hyundai and Genesis billing.

~ Submit all billing to the HMG factories and measure initial recovery rate and recovery rate after resubmission if applicable.

~ Resubmit Claims that are rejected from the factories and local vendors once analyzed for applicability, often requiring significant effort, justification, and negotiation.

~ Identify reasons for claim rejections, identify system error codes and analyze in detail if a claim should be resubmitted for reimbursement.   

~ Coordinate with other warranty departments to correct and update the existing policies and procedures as well as identify opportunities for system enhancements. The system enhancements will improve the quality of dealer claim submissions and entries and prevent claim rejections upstream when submitted to HMG.

~ Assist HMA Finance Department in tracking claim rates and identify system, billing or other issues leading to loss of recovery or a change in recovery rate. Annually, the reimbursement rates must be analyzed in conjunction with the finance and parts departments to maximize HMA’s recovery, with a financial analysis and proposal to be submitted to HMC and a reconciliation plan agreed to by HMA’s Department Head for Warranty.

~ Prepare monthly and weekly tracking reports and perform special projects as requested by management.

Authority

~ Determine which factory to bill warranty, campaign & Goodwill expense.

~ Determine which rejected claims to be rebilled.

~ Interact with HMC/HMMA/KMMG/KMM to discuss ACL and ACM including manual ACL.

~ Initiate and interact with Warranty group & Region to investigate rejected claims.

~ Address billing issues and resolve with Warranty Operations, Warranty Cost Control, and WTC.

Education

~ Must be a high school graduate
~ Bachelor’s degree preferred
~ Master’s degree a plus

Related Experience

~ Six to seven years of work experience preferably in similar field.

~ Automotive repair and/or Billing/accounting field.

~ Familiarization and knowledge of current automotive dealership operation.

~ Extensive data analysis

Skills/Knowledge

~ Knowledge of HMA’s Electronic Warranty Claim System and Edits.

~ Familiarization with Dealership Service and/or Warranty Operations.

~ Proficient in Excel.

~ Familiarization with AS400 or similar environment.

~ Analytical and familiar with SQL and data tools.
