Purpose

  • The primary purpose of the Manager Dealer Planning and Placement (MDPP) is to provide support to the broader Dealer Network team, Dealer Planning & Placement functions, & Performance Mgmt. for both HMA / GMA divisions.

Major Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing and managing the Urban Science and S&P teams (including their systems, and DPP budget process) ensuring that all associated Hyundai and Genesis systems, databases, reports, market studies, processes, security clearance, and projects produced by that team are prioritized appropriately, meet defined requirements, timelines, reporting, and are done accurately / on-time.
  • Oversees and manages the flow of market studies, network planning and dealer/market analysis projects, as well as ensuring the proper implementation, maintenance and reporting of geography, data and dealership information in the Urban Science and registration data provider databases and systems.
  • Reviews and analyzes all Dealer Agreement packages and pre-relocation evaluations involving new dealer appointments or location changes to identify any potential protest issues. Manage this process with the involvement of Urban Science and the Legal Department ensuring all Dealer packages are legally sound.
  • Coordinates with the Regions, Legal, Urban Science, regarding PMA geography audits. Ensures that all necessary geography, dealer information and data updates are being completed in the Urban Science and Experian databases in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Communicates effectively with the Legal Department and Urban Science’s Legal team on any dealership location related issues or lawsuits, and helps with requests for document discovery, depositions and testimony as needed.

Major Responsibilities (continued)

  • Anticipates and assesses the analytic reporting needs of the executives, regions and Korean staff and finds creative and timely solutions to address those needs.
  • Design and oversee production of dealer / market analytic reports, ad-hoc requests, and presentations for Executive staff, Regions, Coordinators when applicable.
  • Reviews for approval all ESM requests submitted by HMA / GMA national departments and regional teams that come through for Master Online systems and other vendor portals.  Perform audits of user lists and communicate with vendors when access must be removed.
  • Provides support as the HAEA liaison for the Dealer Network Development Department to resolve any data or systems related issues.
  • Works closely with the Dealer Network Development (“DND”) team to add or change any SAP master fields in the various master files within the DND area of responsibility.
  • Oversees, coordinates, and manages the annual Segmentation conversion process.  Ensure that both Urban Science and our registration data providers accurately implement the revised segment definitions within their respective databases and systems in a timely manner.
  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Align and implement decisions regarding market, dealer and network planning.
  • Manage activities and performance of the Urban Science and S&P Global vendor accounts.
  • Resolve issues and communicate to management and business partners.

Education

~ Must be a high school graduate
~ Bachelor’s degree preferred
~ Master’s degree a plus

Related Experience

  • Six or more years of experience evaluating data, managing projects, and managing vendors is required.
  • Experience in the automotive industry highly desirable.
  • Market study and network planning experience is also highly desirable. 

Skills/Knowledge

  • Must be able to learn and demonstrate proficiency with all Urban Science and S&P Global data platforms dedicated to HMA/GMA
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and data management skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Ability and willingness to travel (infrequently).
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and communicate effectively.
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

$86,600.00 - $115,000.00 Annual
