Summer Program: June 2025 to August 2025

Major Responsibilities:
- The summer intern is responsible for aggregating the market-level data, analyzing drivers, and identifying opportunities/risks for selected regions. This involves a high degree of critical thinking, Excel or programming skills, analytical visualizations, market validations, and financial literacy.
- Organization: Market data is refreshed each month from various sources and the intern needs to categorize and develop clusters/tables to begin analysis. The intern needs to communicate with PLM teams within the global markets to collect the required data and track status.
- Research: Each country has unique sales performance drivers with various competitive, operational, and legislative factors which impact the business. The intern needs to have the ability to independently research market influences and determine the magnitude of the impact on the business.
- Collaboration: GPLM interacts regularly with 50+ PLM members across headquarters and the regions. The intern needs to have the ability to clearly communicate and collaborate with these groups where English is a second language. This requires an ability to complete the deliverable while building professional relationships with other Hyundai PLM teams.
Project Description:
- This project seeks to provide a thorough analysis of Hyundai’s global market performance by evaluating model rankings across key international markets. An important aspect will be identifying whether Hyundai models consistently rank within the top 20 in various segments or in a specific competitive segment. Additionally, the analysis will monitor performance trends over time to uncover growth patterns and shifts in the competitive landscape.
- The intern will collect and analyze market data, with a focus on sales volumes by brand, model, and segment in major global markets. The project’s primary deliverable is an interactive, remote-access Tableau dashboard for management. This tool will offer dynamic visualizations, enabling management to filter sales data by timeframe, market, segment, and model. The insights generated will inform Hyundai’s market strategies by highlighting key trends in brand performance and competitive positioning.
- The intern will validate pricing power for Hyundai vs. competitors’ models across major sales countries. This will include the impact of incentives and directional price elasticities to determine the target transaction prices for optimal sales, market share, and profitability.
