Purpose

  • The main functions include managing the day-to-day operations of the division, improving operational processes, and rolling them out to the North America regional Hyundai companies.  The day-to-day operations include managing all aspects of purchasing activities, cost tracking and analysis, budget planning, management reporting, and actual spend tracking for the division.  Operational process improvements include understanding current operational processes of North American Hyundai companies, analyzing operational inefficiencies, determining opportunities for improvement, and communicating to Hyundai Motor North America (HMNA) leaders’ business value of standardizing purchasing, budget planning, cost tracking, and reporting activities.

Major Responsibilities

  • Follow and govern Purchasing Policies and Division policies related to purchase orders, manage all aspects of purchase order creation for the Division including understanding the different types of PO’s, budgets, and IT Steering Committee approval requirements, reviewing scopes, managing the review process, reporting status and PO submission.
  • Assist with managing Division budget including monthly budget vs actual reporting and reviews.
  • Exercise discretion and track capital budget vs. PO spending, including at a project level.
  • Assist in supporting SAC budget/actuals reporting tool, including development of new reports, dashboards, and adding new capabilities such as forecasting and capital budget tracking.
  • Use advanced knowledge to develop process documents and deliver purchasing training to the Division.
  • Develop & document standard IT operations and budget planning processes for use across North America strategic region utilizing best practices from all regional Hyundai affiliate organizations. 
  • Review how budget planning is done in Canada and Mexico and document pain points and concerns.
  • Implement budget vs cost analysis tools and processes across Hyundai’s North America strategic region.   
  • With assistance from internal team and affiliate company, define requirements, identify solution options, implement, and maintain an automated purchasing management application.
  • Assist internal division members with purchasing and budget/actual-related questions.
  • Timely completion of ad hoc tasks requested by the department management.

Education

~Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics or Finance

Related Experience

  • Six or more years of experience of which at least three years of directly related experience in operations and/or Accounting. 
  • Two or more years of experience developing and maintaining departmental budgets desired.
  • Two or more years developing and/or enhancing business processes. 

Skills/Knowledge

  • Strong analytical skills and mastery of analytical tools (e.g. Excel, etc.).
  • Strong financial background, including experience with budgets and financial reconciliations.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities.
  • Strong team mindset and interpersonal skills at all levels.
  • Knowledge of SAP a plus.

$86,800.00 - $124,000.00 Annual
