Purpose

  • Support the development of the hydrogen economy in North America by collaborating with the Commercial Vehicle & Hydrogen team in the U.S., closely coordinating with the Global team in Korea. This role will support the rollout of operations at the Metaplant in Savannah, as well as the coordination among external business partners, consultants, and government agencies. In addition, this role will be responsible for tracking all available state government incentives and interacting with the newly created hydrogen hubs around the U.S.

Major Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the affiliate organization - Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America (HMGMA) & Savannah officials to track the deployment of Commercial Vehicles for HMGMA operations.
  • Develop long-term strategies for the build out of the Hydrogen economy for North America in relations with government incentives and HMA.
  • Identify opportunities for HMA to develop Hydrogen Fuel Cell economy and liaise with state officials for the development of Hydrogen Hubs.
  • Conduct external research into trends & develop project proposals, and recommendations for executive review.
  • Collaborate with the State of Georgia and Georgia Institute of Technology on key initiatives in the state, as well as with California officials on the current pilot projects.
  • Communicate with various HMC departments regarding special requests for data.
  • Serve as a representative of HMA and the main point of contact for external stakeholders, building and maintaining relations with external organizations.

Major Responsibilities (continued)

  • Ensure compliance and vehicle certification by working closely with Hyundai affiliates and external environmental protection agencies. 
  • Initiates the process of applying for central/local government eco-friendly subsidy programs.
  • Serve as a main point of contact for government agencies supporting H2 mobility.                                                                                        
  • Develop executive-level presentations for Management Committee Meetings (MCM) for approval and CV & H2 division updates.
  • Track internal budget spending and project achievement metrics.

Authority

  • Responsible for significant decision-making in all areas of the operation.
  • Major corporate recommendations will be confirmed by executive management.
  • Supervise staff as needed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Establish employee goals and conduct performance reviews as needed.
  • Final approval for assigned cost center budget expenditures.

Education

~ Bachelor’s degree required.
~ Master’s degree a plus

Related Experience

  • Ten or more years of strategic planning, corporate planning, or consulting experience.
  • Five or more years of experience consulting (internal or external), government relations, and external partnerships/business development.
  • Previous experience with Hydrogen and/or New Mobility sectors a plus.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Experience in the Automotive or Trucking Industry a plus.
  • Experience managing complex implementation projects & (PMO Experience)
  • Experience with a global corporation or multi-national corporate.
  • Cross-cultural communication skills, analytical ability, presentation skills, and an ability to work cross functionally.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong PowerPoint skills and ability to synthesize information effectively.

$137,025.00 - $203,000.00 Annual
