Location
Purpose
- Assists in the management of the daily operations of Hyundai Motor America’s benefits programs, including but not limited to healthcare insurance, life insurance, and flexible spending accounts, with a primary focus on the management of the 401(k) Plan, Wellness Program, and Employee Assistance Program.
Major Responsibilities
- Manage Hyundai’s 401(k) Profit Sharing Retirement Plan, including data transactions, plan design, government filings, and reporting. Provide employee education, analyze and evaluate the plan, and provide updates about the plan to the Employee Benefits Committee. Oversee annual non-discrimination testing. Prepare reports, metrics, and presentations for management for all recommended 401(k) plan enhancements.
- Manage, enhance, and develop Hyundai’s Wellness Program including making recommendations, leading initiatives, and supporting overall program goals.
- Responsible for managing the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), ensuring it meets the needs of our workforce to support employee well-being.
- Oversee Hyundai’s Dependent Care and Healthcare Flexible Spending Account programs.
- Lead new hire benefits orientation.
- Maintain the Benefits systems, including life events, evidence of insurability approvals, reporting, etc.
- Respond to employee questions regarding Hyundai’s benefits programs. Provide training and education to employees as needed.
- Review contracts and agreements pertaining to the 401(k) Plan, Wellness Program, and EAP to ensure company and employee compliance with federal and state laws, HIPAA, ERISA, and other relevant statutes.
Major Responsibilities (continued)
- Review monthly premiums and supporting reports.
- Submit Benefits invoices in the Finance system for payment processing.
- Partner with the Benefits Manager for Open Enrollment, including testing of system, communications, creating presentation materials, etc.
- Work with carriers/brokers/employees on employee problem resolution.
- Provide support on annual Total Rewards Statement project.
- Manage the Baby Car Seat Program.
- Complete annual benefits surveys.
- Assist with the employee well-being newsletter articles and other Benefits communications.
- Provide administrative support to Benefits Department.
- Assist in other HR-related projects, as assigned.
Authority
- Provide direction and approval to benefits vendors regarding policies, invoices, payments, data transactions, etc.
- The work product of this role is directly related to management and/or general business operations.
- The exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance is required.
Education
Related Experience
- Five or more years of Human Resources experience, of which at least three years should be directly related in Benefits.
Skills/Knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Excellent attention to accuracy and detail.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, results-driven environment.
- Ability to manage ambiguity well and change course when needed.
- Ability to maintain confidential nature of employee information and records.
Certification
- CEBS designation preferred.
