Purpose

~ The Sr. Manager of Technical Training Programs is responsible for the creation, maintenance, and expansion of co-op educational programs and an apprentice technician program that develop qualified candidates to become Dealership Technicians capable of properly servicing & repairing Hyundai vehicles using the most current information available.  The ideal candidate will be responsible from building relationship and establishing collaborative relationships with community colleges and vo-tech schools.

Major Responsibilities

~ Provide Hyundai Dealers with Capable Entry-level Technicians

~ Create and manage a co-op style apprentice technician development program in coordination with local schools, Region, Districts, and dealership personnel to prepare eligible participants for employment as a technician at Hyundai dealerships.

~ Develop, catalog, and maintain robust processes to support the Technical Training Senior Managers in their efforts to nationally expand the program in their respective regions.

~ Provide Hyundai Dealers with An Exceptional Technician Apprenticeship Program

~ Manage HMA’s supplier to deliver an apprenticeship solution individual dealers can utilize to internally measure and improve the abilities of their new, inexperienced technicians.

~ Provide Hyundai Dealers with Exceptional Technician Retention Support

~ Lead the Program Manager of Technician Recruiting & Retention in collaboration with the Technical Training & Service Training leadership teams to deliver comprehensive solutions to improve tech retention in target dealers.

~ Demonstrably improve target dealer technician retention using available HMA training resources as well as Carlisle’s Automotive Technician Collaboration (ATC) program.

~ Lead the Hyundai Military Liaison and the Program Manager of Technician Recruiting & Retention to manage and continuously improve technician and service personnel recruiting efforts on hyundaicareers.com.

~ Provide Hyundai Dealers with Exceptional Technician Recruitment Support

 

Major Responsibilities (continued)

~ Manage the annual budget to maintain all the programs’ growth and requisite equipment as needed.

~ Provide Exceptional Multi-Level Leadership

~ Effectively coach, counsel, and lead vendor staff to achieve HMA targets.

~ Effectively advise dealer, Region, and corporate personnel to achieve HMA targets.

~ Utilize the diverse talents of the staff by efficiently managing staff’s time, materials and budget while focusing on HMA’s goals and vision.

~ Achieve or exceed annual objectives, including improved tech retention and recruitment.

~ Perform other assigned duties (Duties that are ancillary to this position and/or complement the essential duties) as required.

~ Up to 25% travel may be required to visit schools, other training centers, dealers, and national headquarters as needed.

~ Be able to manage RFPs, contracts, and Purchasing workflows.

Authority

~ As a key resource manager, this individual is responsible for developing collaborative relationships between dealerships, dealer groups, HMA Regions, community colleges, and vo-tech institutions. This role also includes the day-to-day administrative duties of a manager such as expense report review and approval, vendor performance evaluation, and coaching/mentoring of vendor staff.

~ Work with appropriate Customer Experience, District, and Region personnel to ensure coordination and integration of apprentice technician co-op programs.

~ This individual also has a key responsibility of protecting HMA intellectual assets through the proper management of access to web-based information resources such as hyundaidealer.com, hyuandiatechinfo.com, and the Hyundai Learning Portal

Education

~ Bachelor’s degree preferred
~ Master’s degree a plus

Related Experience

~ 8 to 10 years of experience, with at least 4 years of directly related experience in dealer-focused program development.

~ 3 to 4 years of supervisory experience desired.
