Location
Purpose
~ Advanced manager level position responsible for the strategy and oversight of the model line planning for all Genesis Brand models.
Major Responsibilities
~ Act as liaison between HMC and HMA Product Planning teams and GMNA based teams.
~ Manage Product Planning master schedule; ensure all work is scheduled and completed on time.
~ Work with North American teams (HMNA/GMNA, HATCI, NAQC, Genesis NA Design) to create comprehensive HMNA new product proposals for each development milestone.
~ Collaborate with North American subsidiaries to coordinate the development of product planning objectives (short and long term).
~ Regularly review total Genesis Brand line-up plan and make recommendations for lifecycle enhancements ensuring consistency across model lines.
~ Use advanced knowledge to lead and conduct new model design evaluations for each design stage.
~ Make recommendations for Long Range Product Plan adjustment to ensure proper cadence of new model introductions (including new entry ideas with Vehicle Strategy team).
Major Responsibilities (continued)
~ Oversee US market specific vehicle development activities.
~ Support monthly Genesis Product Committee governance meeting – agenda development/presentation.
~ Exercise discretion and refine product recommendations from Genesis model line planning teams.
~ Work with PLM/GMA Sales to align model mix and packaging complexity.
~ Ensure packaging development and pricing development are closely coordinated.
~ Work with ADAS/Multimedia/Mobility/Digital Business Planning teams on feature application strategy.
~ Work with Pricing/APS/PLM/PD Office teams to maximize vehicle margin/profit while meeting volume goals.
~ Coordinate product research with HMNA and GHQ Market Research teams.
~ Manage development of full model line product presentations and coordinate presentation events.
~ Represent Genesis Brand at internal and external events involving multiple model lines.
~ Oversee preparation of product presentations for product meetings with HMC and Genesis HQ.
~ Manage Genesis Brand Product Planning budget – including pilot vehicle and competitive benchmarking.
~ Improve product planning processes, both within Genesis Brand and between HMA and HMC.
~ Monitor market acceptance of vehicles to formulate countermeasure proposals focused on improving product competitiveness.
~ Work with Cost Optimization and PD Office teams to identify key cost reduction opportunities for NA produced products at HMMA and future EA plants.
~ Oversee and validate OCN/Monroney label/Spec validation approval process to ensure 100% error free execution and delivery.
~ Proactively support Genesis PP team members development plan and goals.
Authority
~ Responsible for significant Genesis brand-level product direction and guidance for North America Subsidiaries.
~ Major corporate recommendations will be confirmed by executive management team GMA/HMNA.
~ Conduct and communicate NA strategy with HMC HQs as a window of NA region.
~ Works with executives on management initiatives; recognized as a member of management.
~ Manages a department or one or more functional areas.
Education
Related Experience
~ Ten or more years of experience with direct experience in automotive product planning preferred.
~ Three to five years of supervisory experience desired.
Skills/Knowledge
~ Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
~ Good organizational and team leadership skills.
~ Effective communication skills.
~ Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
~ Strong automotive technology knowledge.
