Location
Purpose
~ This position will be required to manage and lead electric vehicle development and product quality for Hyundai and Genesis Brands. The ideal candidate will focus on vehicle development, evaluation, product quality, customer acceptance, proper retail diagnosis and lead development of the tools required to diagnose and properly repair vehicles in the field.
~ Responsible for validating product complaints, qualitative analysis, recovering and analysis of warranty parts and the reporting of any existing systematic product problems.
~ Responsible for the development of countermeasures for (a) field repairs and (b) production in coordination with HMC.
~ Responsible for timely distribution of all related Technical Service Bulletins.
~ Ensure support to achieve high ranking of IQS/VDS/CR surveys.
Major Responsibilities
~ Provide technical leadership for high voltage batteries and related EV systems.
~ Report vehicle HV battery, control electronics, motor, and charging system quality issues through Quality Information Report (QIR).
~ Publish Recall, Campaign and Field Fix Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) related to various quality issues.
~ Provide technical support on related EV systems, battery diagnostics, repair, and Special Service Tools (SST).
~ Assist battery refurbishing and recycling program with outside vendor.
~ Support the Techline and supplier battery approval release system.
~ Help specify Dealer EV charging requirements.
~ Develop dealer service requirements and SST including procedure for future battery repair at dealers.
~ Support EV new vehicle development activities including EV ride & drives and vehicle charging evaluations.
~ Attend EV Port POE Audit. Help specify Port maintenance and processing requirements.
Major Responsibilities (continued)
~ Coordinate the collection and analysis of warranty return parts, dealer visits and on-car investigations to determine the cause of failure and initiate corrective action.
~ Monitor the analysis of warranty and Techline databases, customer surveys, warranty parts analyses and Field Service Engineering reports on an ongoing basis to detect new systematic product problems and to gauge the effectiveness of countermeasures taken against known problems.
~ Manage the development of field repair solutions and initiate production changes, as necessary. Manage the follow up of Quality Information Reports in the CCC Global system to ensure that timely action is taken.
~ Ensure successful launches of new models and support of Launch Quality Monitoring Process.
~ Conduct Labor Time Study (LTS) on new models to ensure fair/adequate repair time and procedure for dealers and HMC/HMMA.
~ Coordinate and manage the Monthly Quality Report development each month.
~ Work closely and cooperatively with various groups throughout the organization (Data Analysis Group, Field Service Engineers, Legal, Consumer Affairs, Warranty, Parts and Techline group to communicate/interchange technical and service related problems and resolutions.
~ Monitor and clearly identify JDPA IQS/VDS/CSI (FRFT) and CR Reliability (Durability) surveys liabilities and develop improvement and validation plans accordingly.
~ Evaluate, Troubleshoot and Diagnose vehicle installed field failure parts (improved QIR problem definition)
~ Oversee development of required Special Service Tools to assist Dealers with vehicle repairs.
~ Develop, support and conduct competitor benchmarking and customer preference studies.
~ Conduct other tasks related to the Purpose of this Position as assigned or requested.
Authority
~ Provide technical leadership for all thing EV.
~ Lead EV related activities from Engineering and coordinate with other divisions.
~ Assist other division in resolving complex EV or Mobility related questions.
~ Issue Quality Information Reports (QIR).
~ Issue Technical Service Bulletins (TSB).
~ Issue Dealer Communication System messages (DCS).
Education
Related Experience
~ Five or more years of working experience.
~ Automotive Retail and Wholesale experience preferred.
Skills/Knowledge
~ Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
~ Thorough automotive technical knowledge required.
~ Strong written and oral communication skills.
~ Strong analytical/problem solving ability.
~ Strong data management/general and statistical analysis/reporting.
~ Individual must be well organized yet flexible to accomplish objectives that are often subject to change.
~ Must be able to work independently with a minimum of supervision and direction.
