Purpose
- The Senior Manager, Genesis Sales Planning and Analysis, is responsible for the development of the Carflow/Rundown and alignment with Hyundai Motor Company (HMC), Hyundai Motor North America (HMNA), and all stakeholder departments within Hyundai and Genesis.
- This position ensures the Sales and Wholesale plan align with production capabilities, profitability requirements, and other considerations while meeting the needs of consumers and retail partners. The Senior Manager must also work to maximize sales efficiency and to align incentives planning with the sales forecast.
- This role has management responsibility for the national and regional Genesis Motor America (GMA) Carflow documents and will present work in HMA executive corporate governance meetings to support Genesis’ Sales Planning efforts.
- This position is expected to take a creative approach to support the brand’s unique vision and mission in the development of the Carflow/Rundown and Sales Planning.
Major Responsibilities
Sales Planning:
- Use advanced knowledge to manage the Carflow/Rundown Budget plan and monthly sales planning forecasts for Genesis, which includes; production, wholesale, and retail sales target-setting.
- Exercise independent judgement to develop and maintain Carflow/Rundown by series, by region and port to analyze regional production requests versus assigned sales objectives.
- Create vehicle sell-down and new model launch vehicle rundown plans.
- Collaborate with the HMNA Sales Planning team to ensure Genesis Motor America’s sales and production plans aligned with HMA and HMNA.
- Perform monthly sales analysis, by model, to ensure optimal ordering mix.
- Inform executive management and other partners of changes to the Carflow/Rundown and subsequent impact of changes to inventory, production, or sales.
Major Responsibilities (continued)
Analysis:
- Analyze National and Regional sales programs, review sales performance, sales trends, production status and inventories at the National, Regional, District, and Dealer levels.
- Research the impact of industry and macroeconomic trends on future business planning as they pertain to volume planning, price-setting, consumer trends, changes in demographics, and regulatory compliance.
- Provide support to executive management in preparing sales associated presentations and in generating ad-hoc analyses and projects.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
- Coordinate and communicate with various stakeholders within HMNA including Product Line Management, Distribution Operations, Incentives, and Finance.
- Coordinate with HMC on retail sales target-setting and developing production plans for all Genesis models to ensure optimal model and trim mixes are produced timely.
- Work closely with GMA Finance to develop the financial plan and ensure that the sales plan aligns with the company’s profitability needs.
- Work in conjunction with the GMA Sales Incentives team to ensure incentive plans align with sales forecasting to guarantee the company operates at ideal sales efficiency while maximizing profitability.
- Coordinate with GMA Distribution on vehicle allocation and logistics to uphold the appropriate mix of models and trims are allocated to each region and distribution timing is efficient.

Education
Related Experience
- Eight or more years of automotive OEM experience in sales analysis, sales planning, incentives, and/or finance.
- Two to five years of supervisory experience desired.
- Experience with market research and data analysis.
Skills/Knowledge
- Must be highly quantitative and have superior forecasting and analytical capabilities.
- Understanding of production planning and sales planning.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to influence key decision makers to help improve sales, efficiency and brand value.
- Knowledge of carline profit-target setting and financial planning.
- Knowledge of vehicle pricing and segmentation.
- Able to problem solve using logic, data, and reasoning.
- Creative and strategic thinker.
- Knowledge of U.S. premium vehicle market and consumers.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must have highly effective verbal and written skills and the ability to make dealer and regional presentations.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
