Purpose
- The Senior Group Manager, Genesis Planning & Governance, GMNA Office is a key leader responsible for GMNA business strategy critical to the organization’s success. Major functions within GMNA Business Planning includes monthly sales performance reviews, quarterly strategy seminars, and midterm sales planning. Working cross-functionally with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Sales, Marketing, Aftersales, Customer Experience, and Product Planning, the SGM ensures alignment across key business functions. Governance includes monthly sales performance reviews, quarterly strategy seminars, and annual budget / midterm sales planning. This position also supports Genesis executive leadership by preparing high-impact executive presentations, consolidating performance insights, tracking and ensuring timely submission of all COO assignments from all functions, and representing the office of the COO. This is a high-visibility role with significant exposure to executive leadership.
Major Responsibilities
- Represent the COO on an ad-hoc basis in working-level meetings and cross-functional discussions.
- Prepare Develop and review all PowerPoint decks and supplemental supporting materials for executive presentations.
- Orchestrate alignment of objectives and deliverables across Genesis functions to ensure strategic cohesion.
- Enhance GMNA strategy with in-depth analytics, ensuring decisions data-driven decision-making and plans are evidence-based.
- Ensure that internal and external benchmarking capabilities are in place for all key areas so variances from best-in-class are identified and identify improvement opportunities.
- Institutionalize monthly key dealers’ engagement platform at the national and regional levels with coordinated business strategies and performance management.
- Support governance structure within GMNA, the company, and between the strategic region and global.
- Coordinate policies and delegation of authority for the company to ensure the right checks and balances between functions.
- Pinpoint and address core issues within business processes through development and implementation of correction strategies.
- Analyze and optimize business processes, identifying core challenges and implementing correction strategies.
- Provide business support to the senior leadership team to ensure synergies between Genesis functions.
- Deliver an executive-level summary of business operations to support leadership decision-making and expense optimization.
Major Responsibilities (continued)
- Spearhead template development for quarterly performance tracking, consolidating key information to measure progress against strategic objectives and sharing findings.
- Evalaute risk factors when making critical business decisions and completing special projects and initiatives to combat those potential risks.
- Lead development of monthly division performance management materials and executive presentations with cross-functional teams.
- Lead program management office for near-term cross-functional, high-impact business improvement and efficiency projects.
- Manage scorecard that includes key metrics related to sales, customer service, image, etc.
- Review PowerPoint decks and supplemental materials for monthly strategic region Governance process.
- Effectively hire, train, motivate, develop, and retain staff. Utilize the diverse talents of direct reports by efficiently managing time, materials and budget while focusing on the goals and vision of the company.
Authority
- Attend all meetings with the COO or on their behalf to identify action items, then collaborate directly with relevant teams to ensure effective execution and accountability.
- Responsible for performance management and development of any assigned direct reports.
- Approve all time off, training, expense reporting, and miscellaneous spending for team.
- Provide direction and follow up of assignments to other departments to complete work on cross functional projects.
Education
Related Experience
- Ten or more years of automotive, technology, and/or luxury goods experience, ideally in Product Planning, Marketing, Market Research, or Corporate Strategy.
- Strong understanding of the automotive industry, particularly luxury brands and electric vehicle market trends.
- Five or more years of supervisory level leadership experience is preferred.
Skills/Knowledge
- Mastery of business analytics tools, Excel, and PowerPoint for financial modeling, and forecasting,
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills with experience preparing executive-level reports and materials.
- Proven track record in budget management, expense optimization, and governance processes.
- Strong organizational and team leadership skills.
- Extremely strong analytical skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze, organize, synthesize complex data, translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations, and present data effectively to executive leadership.
- A passion for product and following/understanding of competitor strategies.
- Organizational intelligence.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, manage multiple priorities, and drive high-impact initiatives.
- Experience in stakeholder management at senior leadership levels.
