Purpose

  • The Genesis HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management for the Genesis Motor North America (GMNA) division. The position serves as a business partner to GMNA management on human resource-related issues, acting as an employee champion and change agent. The role assesses and anticipates HR-related needs, develops integrated solutions, and serves as the liaison from GMNA to HMNA HR. The position collaborates across the HR function to provide value-added services to both management and employees, aligning with the organization's business objectives. The Genesis HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy regarding GMNA's strategic plans, culture, and goals.

Major Responsibilities

  • Attend Genesis leadership meetings and present updates on human resources.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, boost morale, enhance productivity, and increase retention.
  • Resolve employee relations issues with the support of senior management. (Manager of Employee Relations, Senior Group Manager of HR Business Partners, and Legal). Ensure proper intake, documentation, and closure of reported employee relations issues.
  • Regularly meet with the GMNA team, including regular touch bases with executives and leadership, to discuss and promote HR-driven initiatives.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of GMNA's leaders, individual contributors, contractors, overall strategy, organizational structure, and functions.
  • Conduct 1:1 check-ins with GMNA employees to ensure employee satisfaction, identify organizational concerns, and understand job scopes.
  • Assist the Senior Group Manager, HR Business Partner in developing communication strategies for announcements across the organization.
  • Resolve employee relations issues with the support of senior management. (Manager of Employee Relations, Senior Group Manager of HR Business Partners, and Legal). Ensure proper intake, documentation, and closure of reported employee relations issues.

Major Responsibilities (continued)

  • Assist the Senior Group Manager, HR Business Partner in developing communication strategies for announcements across the organization.
  • Managers and employees receive coaching, mentoring, and counseling for work-related problems, such as performance issues or misconduct. Recommendations for appropriate actions, such as progressive discipline, reassignment, or termination, are also provided.
  • Conduct separation processes, including exit interviews, handling employment documents, and coordinating payroll, as employees transition out of the company.
  • Analyze quarterly termination reports and provide the leadership team with recommendations for improvement.
  • Assess and evaluate talent within GMNA to make internal mobility recommendations across the organization.
  • Provide guidance and input on GMNA organizational structures, workforce planning, and succession planning by collaborating with the Talent Management team.
  • Collaborate with Talent Management for workforce planning, talent reviews, succession planning, and providing support during the performance evaluation process.
  • Assists with identifying training needs for GMNA and individual coaching needs. Participating in the evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure their success.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to provide support during the recruiting process, such as actively participating in the interview process and validating leadership candidates.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with HR leadership and the Legal Department as needed.
  • Monitor progress on employee check-ins and 90-day reviews to ensure completion.
  • Manage and develop the Assistant Manager, Genesis HR Business Partner.
  • Provide businesses with HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Assists international employees with expatriate assignments and related HR matters.
  • Analyze trends and metrics in collaboration with the HR team to develop solutions, programs, and policies.

Authority

  • Make independent decisions related to employee relations.
  • Supervisory responsibility for the Assistant Manager, Genesis HR Business Partner.
  • Provide recommendations to management regarding employees, business restructures, and necessary trainings.
  • Responsible for approving lateral transfers and internal promotions.

Education

~ Bachelor’s degree preferred
~ Must be a high school graduate

Related Experience

  • Six or more years of direct HR experience.
  • OEM industry experience preferred.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Broad knowledge of HR functions to exercise sound judgment in decision making.
  • Experience in Employee Relations with specific experience in grievance and conflict resolution.
  • Proven planning, priority setting, and time management skills.
  • Ability to build trusting relationships, gain credibility, and partner with leaders and peers quickly and effectively.
  • Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality in matters that require discretion.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Flexible, self-starter, able to manage multiple ongoing projects without close supervision in a fast-paced environment.
  • A demonstrated team-orientation with all levels of employee.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP.

Certification

  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or HRBP certification desired.

$86,800.00 - $124,000.00 Annual
