Purpose

  • The position will support and guide Business Units in financial planning and analysis, cost control, forecasting, month end close, and financial reporting. This role will also support the Division with all financial activities.

Major Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparing annual business plans and maintaining annual forecast and expense targets for the Business Unit (BU).
  • Manage and track all activities related to the preparation and submission of the Genesis’ annual budget.
  • Involved in monthly forecast and accrual process by meeting with internal and external stakeholders to prepare subsequent forecast and accrual reports for review and submission.
  • Create the monthly and year-end preparation of accruals, including interfacing with vendors and Agency Finance/billing to confirm accuracy and resolve problems.
  • Partner with the Accounting team to ensure that the month end close financial are accurate and compliant with accounting standards.
  • Perform account reconciliations and prepare actual vs forecast analysis as part of the month end close.
  • Prepare, analyze, and present financial reports reflecting actual performance against budget/forecast to BU and senior management.

Major Responsibilities (continued)

  • Provide BU managers with individual key spending reports at month-end, including analysis of spending versus budget and YOY.
  • Manage, create, entry, and track Purchase Requests, POs, Change Notices, Check Requests, and other payments and reimbursements.
  • Interface with vendors to resolve billing/payment problems.
  • Able to work on billing activities, developing, and implementing process improvement to continue department and division efficiency.
  • Liaison between Genesis and Hyundai departments and Finance/Accounting to act as an representative for the Genesis Division.
  • Support the BU on procurement, projects, business case activities, and finding resolution to budget/spending concerns.
  • Serve as advisor to the BU and leadership on financial activities.
  • Ability to meet constrain deadlines and timely completion of ad hoc projects requested by the department management.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with partners, vendors, agencies, team members, and internal resources.

Authority

  • Role is accountable for decisions that involve of hundreds of millions of dollars.
  • Provide suggestions for process and other job-related improvements thorough analysis and critical thinking.
  • Provide aid, supervision, direction, and evaluation to BU and direct reports.
  • This role requires the performance of work directly related to management and/or general business operations.
  • The exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance is required.

Education

~ Must be a high school graduate
~Must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics or Finance

Related Experience

  • At least six years of professional work experience which at least four years of directly related experience in financial management or planning.
  • Three or more years of experience developing and maintaining departmental budgets desired.
  • Automotive related experience is a plus.
  • Agency and/or vendor experience is a plus.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong knowledge of basic accounting/finance principles.
  • Strong understanding of accrual accounting.
  • Expert attention to detail while working with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to learn quickly, work in a fast-paced environment, and adapt to changing timelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Collaborative team-oriented mindset to achieve objectives while working in conjunction with other departments and agency partners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SAP a plus.

$69,300.00 - $99,000.00 Annual
