Purpose

  • The Manager of Certified Pre-Owned is responsible for the sales and operations of the Genesis Certified Pre-Owned Program and ensuring GMA Regions and retailers are engaged in the Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) business and actions are identified and executed to build the CPO business. The role will recommend strategies and actions at the National and Regional level to address and improve underperforming ADIs. This position is key to supporting the drive to improve the operational efficiency of systems and products that improve CPO sales and Retailer engagement.

Major Responsibilities

  • Set and achieve CPO sales objectives and identify tactical marketing, advertising and incentive actions at a national level which would improve CPO sales, inventory levels, and turn rates.
  • Liaise with HCA as needed.
  • Collect and analyze market intelligence/competitive actions and identify strategies for improving Genesis CPO operations.
  • Recommend National and Region-specific actions to influence strategic and operational changes which would benefit the national CPO vehicle business.
  • Support in the development and management of the National CPO operating budget to optimize sales results through national and regional activities and programs to continually improve CPO retailer engagement.
  • Perform analysis on national retailer network to diagnose CPO performance inhibitors, such as lack of knowledge, motivation, capacity constraints and develop a national business case and action plan to drive retailer engagement.
  • Gather support from the GMA Regions on CPO improvement actions, mentoring and coaching RGM, ROM, FOM, and DPM employees to educate the team on used car operations, off-lease and re-marketing activities, digital marketing, and capacity requirements.

  • Use advanced knowledge for monthly and ad-hoc reporting of CPO sales and performance metrics.
  • Ensure appropriate alignment between GMA New Vehicle and CPO stakeholders at the National and Regional level to ensure incentive offerings do not conflict.
  • Implement National programs to leverage re-marketing and retail efforts to retain used Genesis vehicles within the Genesis Retailer network to maximize used car residual values.
  • Exercise discretion to ensure Retailer compliance with the operational requirements and elements of the Genesis CPO program.

Authority

  • Recommend and evaluate proposals to improve performance of CPO programs.
  • Manage vendors (define scope and ensure delivery of goods/services, monitor and drive performance, work to raise level of program effectiveness).

Education

~ Bachelor’s degree preferred
~ Master’s degree a plus

Related Experience

  • Six or more years of automotive experience with a solid knowledge base in marketing and advertising.
  • Dealer contact experience with the ability to interpret retailer financial statements to improve profitability relating to used car operations.
  • Proven experience in dealer process improvement and growth management experience.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Excellent decision-making skills with defined judgment ability and maturity.
  • Proven leadership with the ability to motivate and engage the GMA field team in the CPO business.
  • Goal oriented, able to inspire the network with clear and measurable responsibilities to support CPO sales goals.
  • Ability to assess situations, diagnose problems and create a compelling business case.
  • Solid understanding of new car operations, parts and service and industry financing and credit options.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Customer-centric with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a dynamic range of personalities.
  • Possess strong technical skills, industry and competitive insight of the used car market.
  • Self-starter and able to initiate independent action with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent organization and follow-up skills.
  • High degree of computer software proficiency.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

$86,800.00 - $124,000.00 Annual
